Item description

Factory Sealed Brand New 3 Disc Set Our SKU B1R-K/ (H-917.9A) -6oz The enormously popular detective series Taggart originally aired in Scotland, on that country's STV network (a franchise of Britain's ITV) during the early 1980s. The program follows the ongoing saga of Detective Chief Inspector Jim Taggart (Mark McManus), a mordant, acid-mouthed cop with a bulldoggish exterior, willing to use virtually any techniques at his disposal to solve crimes in the Glaswegian streets. Its combination of grisly violence and byzantine narratives made it an instant favorite of viewers and kept it on the air for decades - in fact, long after the 1994 death of McManus. This set contains both the first and second episodes of Series Two, Knife Edge and Death Call (both 1986) and the first episode of Series Three, The Killing Philosophy (1987). Knife finds Livingstone and Taggart trying to catch a deranged killer who wraps body parts in tartan blankets; Call finds Taggart doubting the guilt of a young man associated with a body floating in the River Clyde; and Philosophy has Taggart hunting down the Glasgow Bowman, a serial killer who apparently strikes at random, without motivation.
