Q: WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DOES BUYFROMGROOVY ACCEPT?
We accept payment via most major credit cards and Paypal.
Q: DOES BUYFROMGROOVY OFFER A LAY-AWAY OPTION?
Currently, Buy from Groovy does not offer a layaway plan. However, where an interested Purchaser contacts us to request a HOLD or RESERVE on an item(s), we are most times happy to do so FOR UP TO 48 HOURS.
Q: WHAT IF I WANT TO RETURN OR EXCHANGE AN ITEM?
BUYFROMGROOVY does NOT accept returns of merchandise, or offer exchanges of merchandise, unless a Purchaser receives an item(s) in a defective state and such defects vary from, or were not stated in the original listing, or if a Purchaser receives an item(s) totally different from that purchased on the site. In all cases of a problem, we ask and expect customers to bring the issue(s) to our attention within 5 days of the item being delivered. We believe, in all fairness, a further delay in reporting any issue is unacceptable.
Where a refund is warranted – meaning we made a boo-boo with your order – something we try very hard not to do! – we remain accountable and your refund is typically processed within 48 hours.
Q: HOW DOES BUYFROMGROOVY QUANTIFY THE CONDITION OF BONE CHINA AND IRONSTONE WARES?
Here is the low-down on our condition classifications:
MINT: AS NEW! with NO! chips, cracks, fleabites or crazing, NO! fading of imagery and NO! marks, stains, or scratches. Usually refers to an UNUSED item.
EXCELLENT: may show MILD! crazing, a fleabite, MINIMAL! fading of imagery. Defects will be stated in listing
VERY GOOD: item presents with NO! cracks, but may have a chip or fleabites, could present with MINIMAL | MODERATE crazing, MINIMAL! gold or silver loss (where applicable). Defects will be stated in the listing.
GOOD! or FAIR: may present with one or two chips or fleabites, marks or stains, gold or silver loss (as appropriate), image fading but any defects will be stated in the listing.
Q: WHAT IS THE STANDARD SHIPPING TIMEFRAME?
Most items ship out within 2-5 business days. Where there is a variance to this, such as the order of a very large dinnerware service that requires a lot of time and care to package, or when purchases are made over Canadian Statutory holiday periods, like Christmas week, the Purchaser will be made aware of this issue in advance and will be provided with an updated dispatch timeframe. It is very rare that your purchase(s) will not ship out within the 2-5 business-day timeframe.
Please note, if you live in more remote areas, in Canada these areas would typically be those within Northern British Columbia or Alberta, shipping transit times can be in the range of 3-5 BUSINESS days longer than in more urban areas.
Q: SHIPPING COSTS?
Shipping within Canada and to the USA is ALWAYS FREE and included in all pricing shown. We tend to over-pack breakables and always use high-quality packaging materials, taking great time and care with the packing, as we see this to be the best way to ensure breakables are received in one piece versus several! We also provide Combined Shipping Discounts when purchasing more than one item at the same time which are automatically applied to your order at check-out.
Q: DOES BUYFROMGROOVY SHIP OUTSIDE CANADA AND THE USA?
The prices shown include FREE! shipment of the item(s) within Canada and to the USA. If you live outside of these areas and would like to purchase from the shop, please message us for a ship quote, providing us with the name of item or items you are interested to purchase, the quantity you wish to purchase of each item and the postal code, city and country to which the item(s) will be traveling. We will get back to you with a ship price.
Q: SIZING AND QUANTITY DETAILS?
All sizes are given in feet and inches, unless otherwise indicated and are approximations.
All items are listed individually and the price shown would be for a quantity of ONE (1), unless otherwise stated (i.e., SET of xx, PAIR of xx). Sometimes, BONUS! items are provided and where a BONUS! item is included, it will be referenced in the listing. Photos may show more than one (1) of the same item if more than one (1) is available. This is done to assist buyers, allowing them to see each of the available items to assess their quality and/or appearance given that they may receive any number of the shown items, depending upon the quantity ordered. We provide as many photos, normally, as space permits.
With specific reference to stated plate diameters, some companies | people list the diameter of a plate or saucer with the INTERNAL FLAT MEASUREMENT, others with the EDGE-TO-EDGE measurement of the plate or saucer. We typically measure from edge to edge and will then indicate if the piece has a coupe shape. This can lead some to believe the diameter of the stated plate or saucer is different than that which they are trying to match. Usually, this perceived disparity in the stated dimension is the result of this edge-to-edge versus internal flat measurement of the piece. If in doubt, DO! feel free to drop us a conversation and we will be pleased to verify the actual dimensions of the item for you against that which you are trying to match.

In all cases, vintage board games are sold “AS IS” and FINAL SALE. We do our utmost to identify any shortcomings or flaws in our products, as such exist. With vintage board games, the games are inventoried and the status of this inventory is typically stated IN CAPS at the top of the listing.
Board games tend to show their age with time. Many times, people wish to return the games simply because once they receive them, they decide they are not “as new” and therefore, not acceptable to them. With “vintage” games it should be understood that being “as new” would rarely be the case. For this reason, please ensure you are satisfied with the condition of the board game BEFORE! purchasing it.
