Item description

Vintage original 11 x 8.5 in. Shooting Script (Yellow) from the 2000's family of doctors-themed sitcom, OUT OF PRACTICE, created by Christopher Lloyd and Joe Keenan, in which a family of five doctors who have little in common and usually do not get along. The cast includes Christopher Gorham, Paul Marshall, Ty Burrell, Jennifer Tilly, Henry Winkler, Stockard Channing, Nadia Bjorlin, Kaitlin Olson, Marion Ross, and Sally Sapide. This Shooting Script (Yellow) is from the personal collection of cast member Henry Winkler (who portrayed Dr. Steward Barnes). It is from Season 1, Episode 13, which was entitled Model Behavior, written by David Litt. Written in two acts, it consists of a total of 48 leaves on yellow stock that were 3-hole punched and bound with 2 brass brads with a light green cardstock front and back cover. Mr. Winkler's script was inscribed on the front cover by fellow cast member Marion Ross thusly: Love and "Happy Days" - from Mrs. "C" - Marion Ross (an ode to their time together on Happy Days). It is complete in overall very fine- condition with a light vertical curl to the right of the 3-hole punches. There are no tears, creases, stains, or other flaws, not are there are no handwritten notations present within. Provenance: The Henry Winkler Collection. Acquired through auction at Bonhams (TCM Presents...Hollywood Cool). We attended this sale in person and met Mr. Winkler, who attended as well and spoke to the audience several times throughout the session during which items from his personal collection were sold to benefit his daughter's charity. Episode Plot: Oliver sees Benjamin's neighbor Debbie at the café and asks him to put out a little word for him. Ben thinks Debbie is not Oliver's style. He doesn't want Debbie for himself, it's just that Debbie already has a boyfriend. But then Debbie notices Ben and comes to say hello. She mentions that her blind date the previous evening was a disaster, which forces Ben to admit that he was lying to protect Debbie - from Oliver. Oliver is upset and claims he really is looking for a steady relationship. So Oliver gets to go for a date with Debbie, with Ben's blessing. Stewart asks Lydia to take the dog for the weekend, since he plans to paint the bedroom while Crystal is away. Lydia reminds Stewart to come on Saturday, because Norma, his receptionist of 30 years is coming to town just to see them. Series Concept: Ben Barnes is the youngest son and central character. As a marriage counselor and the only non-physician, the rest of his family sees him as a lesser doctor. His wife left him in the pilot episode. Ben's father, Stewart Barnes, is a gastroenterologist who is happy to be free from the influence of his ex-wife, Lydia Barnes (Stockard Channing in her third sitcom starring role following Stockard Channing in Just Friends and The Stockard Channing Show), a status-conscious cardiologist and mother of their three children. Ben's brother, Oliver Barnes, is a self-centered plastic surgeon and committed womanizer. Their sister, Regina Barnes, is a lesbian E.R. doctor, who, like Oliver, is infatuated with attractive women. She is addicted to the action found inside an ER. Crystal, Stewart's girlfriend and receptionist, is a source of frustration and awkwardness for all except Stewart. Jennifer Tilly was a late addition to the cast and is not seen much in the pilot.
