Item description

Be sure to add me to your favorites list Small Model of the NASA Mars Climate Orbiter, a 1999 Failed Mars Spacecraft, 2 and 5/8 Inches Across. This is a mint condition, small version of the Mars Climate Orbiter, which was a failed mission to Mars in 1999. It is made of plastic, and is 2 and 5/8 inches across when it's solar panels are fully extended. The solar panels fold up and rotate around the main body of the space craft, and the communications antenna folds up as does the small piece known as the Pressure Modulated Infrared Radiometer (PMIRR) scientific experiment. This spacecraft was accidentally sent into the wrong orbit, and was destroyed in the Mars atmosphere shortly after it had arrived at Mars. This is a great little collectible of this lost mission to Mars! Diagram of the spacecraft taken from Wikipedia: Thanks for looking! Check out my Store!
