Item description

Brand new factory sealed vhs tape of a Hallmark channel remake that is Out Of Print (OOP) in all formats. In this mini-series (167 min.) remake of the 1968 masterpiece, Glenn Close and Patrick Stewart (with hair!) gracefully, if not quite as joyously, inhabit the lead roles made classic by Katherine Hepburn and Peter O'Toole. In the winter of 1183, King Henry II summons his cunning prison-bound wife to his side as he prepares to anounce the succession of the throne to one of his double-crossing three sons, none of whom are qualified to rule the monarchy. Based on James Goldman's original Academy Award winning screenplay it is admirably true to its source, and the scenery in Hungary and Slovakia splendidly suits the subject. Certainly an excellant effort by a talented cast and crew.
