Item description

About the item: From the George Perez Collection... This entire collection of Teen Titans statues (seven statues in all) are each Artist Proof's (AP's) and, when assembled together, form the image from the cover to The New Teen Titans #1. The set was prominently displayed in Mr. Perez's home studio alongside many other personal mementos from his career. It includes a certificate of authenticity from Vault Collectibles (dba as empire.auctions). Upon inspection, the only defect/damage appears to be Wonder Girl's outstretched hand (the fingers are, while all present, broken- perhaps repaired by George himself as it appears as if they may have been glued back on - though I am by no means certain of this). The set does not come in any of their original boxes. I've packaged them as safely as I could and, with the exception of two of the statues, each are individually boxed (two of them are carefully boxed together in the same box). The bases to each statue are all contained in their own, separate box (and, though it isn't too difficult to figure out, each base has a sticky note on it advising which statue it goes with). All of these smaller boxes are placed into a larger box. I take packaging very seriously, but given that these were originally shipped in styrofoam specifically designed to protect each figure according to is own shape, some minor damage may occur during shipping. That said, I have done the best job I could using a mix of bubble wrap and other materials to ensure they be as safely packaged as possible. Were I shipping them to myself, I could do no better. So, please understand there could be minor damage occur during shipping. This is to be expected and therefore there are no refunds, exchanges, or returns on this collection. If this arrangement is unpalatable, please refrain from purchasing. Of course, it will be fully insured so if there is any significant issues, I'm happy to file the postal insurance claim. Please see below for more information about Mr. Perez and his collection. The first image is a stock photo. All of the remaining images are photos of the actual statues you will receive. One thing, I realized I had the Starfire figure incorrectly inserted into its base after I took all the photos. It should be turned differently but I just didn't notice until after I made all the photos. Just FYI... The George Perez Collection Vault Collectibles is honored to bring George Perez?s personal collection to and to share his tremendous legacy with his countless fans and collectors. The Collection includes hundreds of items from Mr. Perez's estate; items the artist kept over the years and stored/displayed in his studio. Many of the comics are graded and certified by the comic industry's preeminent grading service, Comics Guaranty Company (CGC). All non-CGC graded items will include a Vault Collectibles Certificate of Authenticity (including some raw comic books as well as graphic novels, magazines, and posters, plus unique items such industry recognition awards and even some hand-made gifts Mr. Perez received from fans, all of which come from the artist's studio and were proudly displayed there by Mr. Perez. Fans will have a wide variety to choose from in these auctions and will see not only the depth and scope of Mr. Perez's contributions to the unique art form of comics but his tremendous accomplishments in the field as well. About George Perez George Perez?s amazing career spans five decades, beginning in 1974 with a 2-page spread in Astonishing Tales #25. Since that time he helped revolutionize and revitalize several characters and titles, including The New Teen Titans (also co-creating several of the new members with writer Marv Wolfman), Wonder Woman, The Avengers, and the entire DC Universe itself in the landmark Crisis on Infinite Earths series (again with Wolfman) and its companion piece, the History of the DC Universe. More recently, he again helped redefine DC through Infinite Crisis and the relaunch of Superman under DC?s New 52. In addition to ground-breaking events, Perez has provided fantastic work for many other titles including The Justice League of America, The Infinity Gauntlet, The Hulk: Future Imperfect, Batman, The X-Men, Superman, The Fantastic Four, and the personal dream project JLA/Avengers that brought together DC and Marvel?s preeminent super teams. Many of his contributions have made it onto the silver screen, including strong influences on DC?s Wonder Woman films (indeed, Perez's Wonder Woman work was the very basis of the first film) and in Marvel?s cinematic universe (Perez's influence can be seen in everything from the gauntlet ?snap? - which Perez first illustrated - to the main Age of Ultron fight scene which was specifically based on Perez?s artwork). A true humanitarian as well, Perez helped raise funds for numerous charities over the course of his career and also co-founded A.C.T.O.R. (now known as the Hero Initiative), the first federally recognized not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping comic book creators in need. Recognized by industry professionals as well as fans, Perez has won multiple awards and honors, including several Eagle Awards (one along with Jim Shooter, Sal Buscema, and David Wenzel) for Best Continued Story on The Avengers, one for Best Cover for Avengers #185, and one for Favorite Artist (penciler) in 1986. He won the Inkpot Award in 1983 and his work along with Wolfman on Crisis on Infinite Earths won the 1985 and 1986 Jack Kirby Awards for Best Finite Series. He has also won numerous Comic Buyer?s Guide Fan Awards. In 1985, Perez was included as an honoree among the most influential contributors to DC Comics? history in the company?s 50th-anniversary publication Fifty Who Made DC Great. Most recently, Perez received the Inkwell Awards Stacey Aragon Special Recognition Award for his lifetime achievement in inking.
