The filter can be changed and different fllters can be used as long as they have the 3M connection. The straps are adjustable and elastic. A complete seal is formed around the outer edge of the face for complete protection. Even direct spray of water only obscures vision and does not contact or soak into facial area. The filter is interchangeable with different types. These items are NEW and only removed from packaging to test fit and quality control. UPDATE FROM USERS ATTACH ADAPTER TO MASK SMALL BEAD OF SEALANT MUST BE APPLIED TO BASE OF FILTER ATTACH POINT TO FORM A CIRCULAR RING. ATTACH FILTER AND ALLOW TO DRY. THIS PREVENTS INADVERTENT MOVEMENT IF CONTACT IS MADE DURING ACTIVITY AND MAINTAINS AN AIRTIGHT SEAL. IF THE FILTER IS REMOVED OR STRUCK, THIS PROCESS SHOULD BE REPEATED.
