Originally published in 1941, it was the 8th book in the humorous children series, Freddy the Pig, by author Walter R. Brooks and illustrator Kurt Wiese. This was the last book in the series before the U.S. enters the era of WWII and a good story about how to confront an unknown opponent. iv + 284pp. In addition to the Freddy books, Brooks created the character Mr. Ed the Talking Horse. Dramatic, humorous illustrations by Kurt Wiese (1887-1974). Kurt Wiese illustrated over 300 children?s books and wrote and illustrated another 20 books.
