Item description
John Higbee Glass Compote, Thumbprint Panels, Scalloped, Octagon Stem, Damaged
Measures approximately 7 3/4" tall, 5 1/2" across top, 4" base diameter
10 large thumbprint outside panels with matching scallops around rim
8-sided stem morphs into paneled dome base with starburst pattern on bottom
Unmarked; actual maker, age and origin uncertain. Research indicates it is made by J.B. Higbee Glass Company
In good overall condition with minor damage on the stem. There is a small crack at the base of the stem that runs diagonally for about an inch. It is difficult to notice without looking for it and it does not seem to compromise the integrity of the compote. It has been listed at around half on the typical listing price to compensate for this defect.
