Shelf and spine edges rubbed, small creamy stain to rear cover, else very good plus in sage green cloth with gilt titles and decorative tooling to the spine; NO dust jacket.
Conrad was born Teodor Jozef Konrad Korzeniowski in Poland, and as a young man worked on French and English ships, before joining the British Merchant Service.
CHANCE tells a story of a Ship's skipper, sailors, and Flora de Barral, a young girl struggling to achieve some dignity.
