Item description
Vintage original Revised Final Draft script from the 1950's Lux Video Theatre television series DOUBLE INDEMNITY, originally broadcast on the NBC network. This script is from the series' 7th and final season and is from the episode entitled Danger is My Business, written by Jack Harvey and dated July 1, 1957. It was production #4079 by Screen Gems, Inc. It consists of a total of 45 pages on cream stock that have been 2-hole punched and held together by two metal grommets between an light green front and back cardstock cover.
After the initial title/credits page is a one-page CAST OF CHARACTERS list which is followed by a one-page SET AND STOCK LIST which breaks the scenes down by interior and exterior settings and includes any stock footage required. Following this is a very interest one-page NOTE which lists 7 various "DONTs" that must have been dictated by the censors at the time and include no smoking (use of tobacco), no use of beer/alcoholic beverages or drunkenness; and, oddly enough, no on-screen shaving or display of shaving equipment, among other things. The script is not broken down into various acts as is customary and starts on page 1 and ends on page 41).
Handwritten in red ink on the top of the front cover is the name "Kosturick" (most likely the last name of this owner of this copy of the script) and "Still dept." handwritten vertically in pencil to the right of the series' title. Handwritten in red ink in the top right corner of the back cover is "Seaman Club - Y.M.C.A. - Don Siegal." This vintage original Revised Final Draft script is complete and in overall near-fine condition. It was light folded vertically in half and this foldline appears on all of the pages and front/back cover (it is less noticeable on the interior pages). The front cover has a vertical crease to the right of the grommets from the cover being opened; a 1 in. horizontal tear above the top grommet; a 1.25 in. diagonal crease on the top right corner; almost all of the interior pages exhibit signs of wear on the top left corner; the back cover exhibits several light stains, a small tear below the center of the left edge and signs of wear on the top right corner.
Please note that we could not find any information on IMDb for an episode entitled Danger is My Business from this television series. The script is dated July 1, 1957 and the series' final episode was broadcast on September 12, 1957. As none of the episodes between this period were written by Jack Harvey, this episode was most likely never filmed.
