White House Black Market began as simply White House in 1985. In 1995, White House opened a new boutique: Black Market. Soon after, in 1997, both boutiques were combined into a single concept: White House Black Market. You’d think this would combine into Gray Establishment, but WHBM’s line is anything but gray. Their name reflects the elegant simplicity of their style.
