What is partner fee?

in my paypal all my sales from bonanza include a partner fee

taxes..if you look at your invoice here you will see the taxes, which is the exact same amount as what paypal calls the partner fee

That’s what I thought. But I am asking the question because when I filed and paid my sales tax, I reported the income and listed those amounts under previously remitted as I assumed Bonanza took care of it. I then got a bill for the tax from the state. It appears they didnt submit it.

That would be your sales Tax. Bonanza handles that part for us.

Apparently they didn’t take care of it. I got a bill from NJ for that same amount they withheld.

And yes, the sales tax your buyer pays to his state, that you never touch or have anything to do with, is part of the total transaction amount PayPal is charging you 2.9% of.

So sellers have to pay the PayPal fee to “collect and disperse” the sales tax.
Doesn’t make sense, but that’s how it is. :(
