Paypal shipping policy

What many forget to understand , that if you making a payment with paypal, you are obligated to paypal policies.

there shipping policy says that seller MUST ship to paypal address only (buyer/seller protection)

as a seller i am trying to fallow this rule, and i do not ship to bonanza’s shipping address in case the shipping address is different then paypal’s

i would like to hear your opinions? what you do?

I ship strictly to the Buyer Address Only ,PayPal Address Only & state this in every listing.

Occasionally I have a buyer ask to send elsewhere & I do.

I sell on other marketplaces & it’s just not worth it to me to worry about it , “loose the income” & product if a secondary recipient says they didn’t receive.

I ship to the address requested…here or on my own site…

You can use the [URL removed] option, add in the shipping address and then add the tracking to the original transaction…

I have never had an issue with this…truthfully the only place that anyone, as far as I can tell, is ebay that has any trouble with this…because of the high number of scammers…and it is an ebay mentality artifact…as long as the tracking is given, I would not make a big deal out of it

Also, since members here send items to other members (wish list items or prizes from games), I don’t see any problem with it…

The only time I insisted everything be in order, was with my other booth on the very high dollar sales….

Then there is shipping address is not always the mailing address…some people insist on keeping them separate

You can always request the buyer to add the address in Paypal…if you feel uncomfortable about it…and of course it is decision of what you will or will not do….

Note that many use paypal to process/pay by the credit card but don’t have accounts there…in this case it is merely the credit card processor and is actually subject to the Credit Card policies…not paypal’s

I see that you are from China, so another thing that arises sometimes is that people live in unincorporated townships and may put the name of the township in the address, but the Official US post office address may be the closest larger town…so the paypal address may conflict with the USPS address…in that case I usually check the USPS website zip code locations to make sure everything is okay, then change to the recommended town and add the township name on the other ‘address’ line…

But then I am a ‘small time’ operation and do everything myself, so I can take the luxury of investigating further…

Totally agree with everything ccmom has said. I have been selling for many years online and I have never had a problem with with this happening.

And yes, if you are very worried about it, have them add the address to their paypal account.

i agree to what cjazzcarolina said, its not worth the time to be worried.
i only ship to paypal address , unless buyer asking me to ship to other address.

in that case if buyer says he didnt received the item and his bonanza address is diffrent then paypal’s , i am forwarding him to contact paypal and issue the problem with them.
