How do i "duplicate" a listing that need description and picture changes?

I am pulling my hair out! If I want to list a “similar” item, but have to replace the pics and change some wording in the text, its next to impossible! Is there NO way to save a template for the basic info in the body of the listing, then be able to simply go in and change whatever is necessary? Whenever I try to duplicate a listing, after MANY attempts, I can get the old pics to delete and load the new ones, but I can find NO way to use and edit the existing text! I do not want to have to relist the same basic info over and over again. Ebay, when it comes to adding a new listing and using a previous listing as your template is a breeze! It is taking me 30 minutes to do every single new listing on this site! Help!

Hello eezee
Go to your booth
Upper left – Hover over My Store
From drop down choose add or edit
Hover over item you want to duplicate
Four choices
Edit – Delete – Duplicate – Transfer
Hit – Duplicate- and poof you have a nice clone.
Change the one with the off colored dot.
(That’s the clone)

for some reason, there is NO body ( the item description ) of text to edit! Why? Where is it?

If I have a set a listings all similar…I make one

Click on the source button…save the html to notepad, and save the shipping information as a shipping profile.

Then make a new listing using the html I saved, load the new photos/title and add shipping profile

By the way using the duplicate button, also duplicates the google attributes, and if the upc or anything is different then you need to go into batch edit any way to change it..if not the attributes just pile up with each new piece of additional information…so it really is more work to duplicate than to just make a new listing each time….

But if you sold one already, then you could also just hit the “relist” link on the invoice……

Also if it is taking that much effort to duplicate…then Report the bug, and wouldn’t it just be easier to cut and paste from an existing listing instead of wasting time…

I’m not sure what the problem is, because it works fine for me. I have “Template” listings set up for all my different weight/postage groups. I don’t have a full description in them, but I do have the shipping info, category, etc., and they all seem to work fine.

I don’t put any attributes, etc., in them, because as Trinket says, you end up with all the duplicates. I just have the photo set as Template, which reminds me to change it to the item photos. That also seems to be working.

you know I think part of the problem is, that those who are somewhat newer, are on different servers than us older folks and we do not seem to have as many glitches as newer members….

Thanks , but as I already said, I know how to duplicate an existing listing, but it doesn’t duplicate ANY of the previous description in the listing so that i can EDIT the duplicated listing for the NEW listing. I do not want an exact duplicate. I just want to be able to work off a duplicate (edit the pics and description) for a new but similar listing. IF I have a template, all the basic info is already there. No way to create and save a template?

Now I looked at the new set up and I am with you. Totally lost. (Sigh) Oh for the KISS system

I’ve just checked [URL removed]

I duplicated one listing in the batch edit (My Store —> Batch edit items —> Duplicate items)
and it was done correctly, with all data, *but when I edited this duplicated listing, only title and photos appeared, the rest was completely [URL removed]

![URL removed]

![URL removed]

I’ve checked it once more – again the same view.

So, right now, You can’t make changes on the duplicated item until this problem will be fixed by B. technicians.

*[URL removed] if somebody would like to set online the reserved listing, it’s possible, but without making any changes – after editing there will be this deformed view, but the listing will be added and shown online correctly, as it was before editing.

BTW, it’s absolutely necessary for B. site to have some announcement page, where we can find out about these temporary technical problems.

If I may say [URL removed] some technical problems always can occur and we understand this, but the company reaction – I mean the quality of answers in messages (the truth and not some denial) and how fast the announcement is published – is very important for all members (in order not to lose their time in vain) and is crucial to the company name in the market.

B. often runs some tests to improve the site, but if they interfere negatively with members’ work, we should be notified about those tests a priori.
