Is it better to have low prices but not pay for advertisements, or higher prices with ads? I have a lot of items I need to sell and I don’t know what the right balance is.

If you don’t advertise at a minimum of 9% commission rate (advertising level), your exposure is limited to shoppers who visit and search Bonanza directly, or shoppers who find you in Google’s organic search results. IMO, either doesn’t result in as many sales.
People are savvy enough to search the Google Shopping tab and you want your items to have Google Shopping placement… hence, the minimum of 9% advertising rate. BTW, you only pay that when your items sell. There is NO upfront cost to sell (unlike eBay) your items. Plus, there are ways to minimize your Bonanza FVF so that you pay less than the 9% rate.

It’s usually best to pay at least the 9% advertising rate, so your items show in Google Shopping.

Sales have plummeted since Google announced upgrading Smart Shopping campaigns to Performance Max, which seems to require conversion actions so Google can monetize data. It is unclear whether the Bonz marketplace account, or sites who refuse to cave to conversion actions, will be upgraded. Google couches policy by serving up word salad. Just do the 9% FVF so you get some ads and see how this plays out.

Yes, You did answer my question about google shopping. Thier search now difficult to use. They are now not worth the aggravation for searching for me and I suspect others.
