A couple of questions from a newbie

Good Afternoon. I have signed up for a free booth on Bonanza as well as signing up for the advertising with the 9% maximum commission which advertises on google shopping.

Am I only charged the 9% if an item sells. Am I charged each time someone clicks on an item of mine or only when it sells. I am trying to understand how this google shopping works and what exactly it is. Are item fed into google shopping which in turn bring them to my Bonanza shop?

Since I have signed up for the free booth will I still receive the same amount of traffic versus if I sign up for a pro membership.

I have two successful shops on another site and would like this shop to be as successful Are there more perks traffic and advertising wise with a Pro membership.

I thank you so much for your assistance.

Thanks for the comprehensive explanation, @ccmom!

@Heart_of_Jewels, so sorry for the confusion. The way advertising works is that we pay up front to list your items on those other sites, then you’ll pay us a slightly higher fee when an item sells. The fee for each sale will be somewhere between 3.5% and your selected maximum commission, depending on the role advertising played in the sale, how many views it received, etc. If you hover your mouse over the blue “i” icon by each order on your Bonanza bill, you can view all the advertising details for the sale. We will always charge you the lowest commission possible and it will never exceed your maximum commission. You can read more about how advertising commission is determined on the following [URL removed]

Hope that information helps. Happy selling!

1) You are charge a maximum of 9% (or the maximum commission you choose) only if it sells as a result of an ad click…

Also realize though that the minimum fee is $0.50..so if you sell an item that say is only $5.00 then the fee will show as 10% in this instance because .50/5.00 is .10 or 10%

2) If you have your google feed turned on (it is in Edit Booth Settings…Add my items to Google Shopping ) then your items will go out in a google feed to Google Product Search.

If someone finds your items in GPS and clicks on it..it will bring them directly to the listing

3) There are more perks with each membership level…I went without until I had some success with some sales, then went the most basic for about 3 years (I got sick and had to back off for a while so I cancelled and closed 2 of my 3 booths) and did quite well without a membership…

There is one difference…I was not sending my items to google from more that one site… ie I was not competing for ranking with myself…so if you are going to list the same thing here as you have on other sites…be aware that google will give precedence on the older more established site than it will to the newer site.

So until you bonz booth gets a bit of a reputation, it will be slow…

One way, after you have gotten everything set the way you want, and your feed does not have any issues (you can check your feed for errors) and things seem to be running smoothly..you could try one of the turbo packages that will send out several ads to give you booth a boost (I had one at Christmas and it increased my normal Christmas sales, but I personally would not use it all the time as it is not cost effective for me and since I sell mostly toys and books then the rest of the year is really slow for me anyway…)

Get set up
Get things the way you want it
Make sure your items are in google
Your listings are google compliant
Check your feed for any errors (then fix them)

Read up on the different plans and then decide if any would really be of use to you…

I really just used the Silver and the Gold…to be able to customize the booth (booth panels, sorting options, etc, but the level of sales was pretty much the same with or without)
