We are not experts of steins, but according to our research this is Adolf Diesinger Beer Stein "Courting Couples", catalog No 102. Marked "102" and Signed "B" on stein. The base is marked "G.M.T. & Bro Germany" - which seems to be retailer mark, that was used 1887-1914. There are also marks 3121 and E on the base, we haven't figured out what they mean though.
Text reads:
"Des Morgens beim Bier und danach beim Wein,
des Abends beim Liebchen, so ist es recht fein."
(In the morning with beer and thereafter wine,
in the evening with my sweetheart, that is quite fine.)

Pottery relief stein with pewter lid measures about 14.5" tall and 5-3/8" in diameter at the base. Size is marked 2 L.

Stein shows age and wear, a few small "nicks", scuffs, scratches. The lid feels wobbly on the handle. There is a crack on one side of the base, which might be original to the factory process, but we are not sure. Just a small portion of the crack is visible inside.
