This is a vintage DYED or COLORED MOTHER OF PEARL SHELL PIECES NECKLACE!
The pieces of MOP shell are oddly shaped but roughly circular or square with ridges and other natural shapes. The shell has been dyed or colored to create brighter colors in shades of blue, green, pink, red, orange and browns!
The necklace has a silvertone metal extension chain so that it can be worn shorter than the full 18" length if desired.
