This is an authentic 8"x10" autographed photo (unframed) of Mike Torrez. It is signed with blue sharpie.
Torrez was a well-traveled right-hander who pitched for seven different teams during his career. He spent significant time with the Cardinals (with whom he broke in), The A's, and the Red Sox. Perhaps his greatest accomplishment, however, was for a club with whom he spent only part of one season: the New York Yankees. After coming to the Yankees in an April 1977 trade with the A's, Torrez helped the Yankees win the pennant by posting 14 wins (including seven straight in July and August), then won two complete game victories over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. He won 15 or more games seven times during his career, including six years in a row from 1974-79, and was a 20 game winner in 1975 with the Orioles.
On a less positive note, Torrez threw the pitch that Bucky Dent hit for a three-run homer in the 1978 AL East playoff which led to the Yankees' 5-4 win over the Red Sox.
Photographs are protected and shipped in polypropylene sleeves.
