Victorian Gilded Hand Painted Porcelain Sterling Cap Inkwell 1800's
Early Victorian hand painted gilded Flower/ leaf porcelain inkwell with Sterling silver repousse cap probably English circa 1800's .
Antique porcelain inkwell beautifully decorated with flowers, leaf and buds design traced/gilded in Rose Gold accented with Silver in a light Yellow background. The inkwell has a big Sterling silver repousse hinged cap.
The porcelain inkwell measures 3 1/4" tall including the Sterling cap , 2" x2" inches square.
Condition:There is a tight hairline starting a the corner,please see pictures, not showing on the inside, the silver paint shows wear the rose gold tracing is intact .
The sterling repousse cap has a "dent" on the side the hinge is tight , no repairs works fine.
The cap it is not marked but tested positive fro Sterling 925.
Having said that that is a period piece in very good condition for its age.
