CARLOS ROSSI (20th Century):
Somewhat of an enigma artist, Carlos Rossi was a 20th century artist who was active in the 1950s-1970s. He worked primarily in oil on canvas and usually chose seascapes and landscapes, though he occasionally produced some still life pieces and portraits as well. However, it his sweeping seascape oils he is best known for, especially his "Breakers at Sunset" series. These individual paintings all were large pieces showing different views of breaking surf at sunset. A few of these were reproduced as prints, but no known reproduction of this version exists. |
