Vintage 8x10 in. U.S. single-weight glossy copy photograph (not a vintage original photograph printed at the time it was taken) from the classic silent film horror drama/romance, THE UNKNOWN, released in 1927 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and directed by Tod Browning. A criminal on the run (Lon Chaney) hides in a circus and seeks to possess the beautiful daughter (Joan Crawford) of the ringmaster at any cost.

The image features an interior long shot of Alonzo (Lon Chaney), an armless knife-thrower in a circus, as he performs in the center ring and uses one of his feet in lieu of his missing arms and hands while the audience watches him. Printed most likely in the 1950's, this vintage copy photograph is in very fine condition with a light 0.5 in. diagonal crease on the top right corner. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the image quality is sharp with good detail and nice contrast.
