Item description for Vintage Hedgehog Porcupine Sarah Coventry Spiked Brooch Pin Amber Eyes

This is an adorable little vintage prickly spikey Hedgehog made by Sarah Coventry. It could also represent a Porcupine. It is made from a gold tone metal with sparkling amber colored rhinestone eyes. It has a domed body back full of spiked quills for protection, a stubby little tail, a pointy snout and tiny feet. It is signed on the back ©SARAH with the copyright symbol and capital or upper case letters. It measures approximately 1 ¼ inches by 1 inch. Sarah Coventry was founded in 1949 and was a direct sales jewelry company. I believe this pin was produced in the early 1980s.

This cute brooch is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The metal is nice and shiny. There is tiny bit of wear or tarnish on the inside back of the pin but it is only noticeable with magnification. The roll over clasp closure works fine and is secure.
