Item description for Vintage Snakeskin Snake Skin Leather Backing Belt Buckle 1986 Signed

This is a great vintage snake skin belt buckle with a black leather wrapped backing. The natural pattern on the snakeskin is a wearable piece of artwork, it is stunning with the golden yellow and dark brown or black coloring. I don't know what kind of snake this is from. The edges have hand lacing. It is signed and dated, but I can only decipher the date 86’ for 1986, I cannot figure out the signature. It measures approximately 3 inches wide and 2 ¾ inches high. The opening for the belt is 1 ¾ inches at the widest point. The belt shown in the picture is 1 1/8 of an inch wide (the belt is NOT included).

This buckle is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. I have not polished the silver tone metal bar and pin on the back of the buckle, depending on your own taste, I will leave any polishing up to you; you can keep it in the same condition with its original patina or polish it. This would be perfect for any Cowboy or Cowgirl, great to wear with your Southwestern style clothing. How fun to wear to your next Country Dance or to the Rodeo.
