This is a lovely little Tonala Mexican Pottery Butterfly stick pin. It reminds me of the El Palomar stoneware pottery, but it is not signed. It features a soft blue stylized butterfly with the taupe and deep brown banding around the edge. The pottery section is hand painted with a gloss finish. The stick pin is approximately 3 inches in length. The pottery portion at the top measures approximately 1 ¼ inches long and ½ of an inch wide. I have not been able to find another one like it.

This stick pin is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There are no chips, cracks or crazing. There is a slight curve to the long pin portion of the stickpin, but it does not affect the appearance or use of the stickpin. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This would be a great addition to your collection of Mexican jewelry. How fun to wear at a party when you are serving guests dinner using the El Palomar dinnerware. If you are a crafty person, you could re-purpose this stickpin into a pendant or a brooch if you desired.
