Item description for Cherub Cupid Angel Boutonniere Lapel Pin Vase Flower Holder Brooch

This is a hand crafted little wearable Cherub or Cupid filigree vase that is a holder for artificial, silk or dried flowers, it does not hold water. It is perfect for a wedding, prom, or any special occasion when a boutonniere is appropriate. It is a unique and elegant accessory. In In Victorian and Edwardian times many of the men of higher status wore Boutonneire Vases. I don’t know when or where this was made and it is most likely a reproduction made using a stamping of the Angel. It measures approximately 3 inches tall and 1 inch wide at the widest point. The metal is a dark silver tone or gunmetal gray. More of an antiqued or oxidized pewter color than silver. I don’t know what the actual material is, and I have not had it tested. It weighs .25 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 7.09 grams.

This brooch is in great vintage pre-owned condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This would be perfect on a jacket lapel or on a shawl or scarf. A great piece of figural jewelry for anyone who collects Cherubs or Angels. What a fun brooch to wear on Valentine’s Day with a little rosebud tucked inside.
