This vintage figural Alligator or Crocodile Brooch/Pin is made from a silver tone metal and has great textured detail over the entire body. It is very well designed and quite realistic, it even has an open mouth. It measures approximately 2 1/4 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. It has a roll over safety catch on the back and it is unsigned. This is most likely from the late 1970s or early 1980s.

Alligators are large, carnivorous reptiles with four legs and a huge tail. They are the largest reptiles in North America. I've run into a few here in Florida on the local golf courses and canals. They are amazing creatures.

This brooch is in excellent condition with no finish loss or damage of any kind. It would look stunning on that little black dress or a perfect eye-catching piece on the lapel of a jacket or blazer. Fun to wear if you are a University of Florida Gator Fan. It would also make a nice addition to your collection of figural jewelry. A little bit of nature becomes wearable art.
