This is a wonderfully detailed small pin or tie tack of an Astronaut complete in his space suit. You can even see the features on his face.  It measures approximately 3/4 of an inch high from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet and 1/2 of an inch at its widest. It has a stud type pin post on back with the tie tack chain attached. The chain measures 1 1/2 inches (including the bar section). It could easily be worn as a hat pin, or a lapel pin just by changing out the back push on clasp. It is a silver-tone metal and is not signed or marked, but I think the Astronaut was sterling. I'm not positive, but I believe this was purchased in the 1960s when the space program was so popular.

It is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details and condition better than I can describe.
