Live at Montreux, European Travelog by Maiz, Orquesta  Alto Cd

Live At Montreux's nine non-stop tracks weigh in at just under an hour, without an ounce of fat showing. The arrangements by founder/pianist Bob Washut and vocalist/percussionist Ed East are rich and full-bodied, and tunes from such disparate sources as Thelonious Monk, Eddie Palmieri, George Gershwin, Ruben Blades, Salvador Salgado, Juan Tizol and Washut and East themselves are pulled with natural ease under one swinging, shaking beach umbrella. The playing by every single band member is sharp, inspired and tastefully sassy.
