Comments: An on-line genealogy search reveals Isaac Winans was born March 14, 1822 in Unadilla, New York and died June 26, 1901. He was married to Rhobey Hunter Winans a school teacher born January 26, 1816 and died in 1908. She was a native of Sharon, Vermont and the daughter of Dr. Ira and Robey Spaulding Hunter. Isaac was a manufacturer of boots and shoes in Sidney Centre, New York for over 30 years, and was also a farmer. They had one natural child named Herman Hunter Winans (1848-1861) and after his death they adopted a daughter Edith G. who was born July 5, 1857 and married James Vorhees whereupon they moved to Brooklyn, New York.
