This is a stunning large vintage brooch or pin and earring set depicting a Cornucopia also called a Horn of Plenty. The brooch is made with silver metal in a criss-cross woven basket pattern with textured and smooth finishes. Spilling out of the cornucopia is a dangling cascade of beautiful sparkling ice blue glass crystal faceted beads with an Aurora Borealis finish. The rich blue beads are set on individual silver pins and catch the light with every move and have flashing rainbow shades in blues, pinks, purples, greens and more. This set is most likely from the late 1950s to early 1960s.

There are 17 crystal beads in the brooch, which measures approximately 3 1/4 inches from the end of the basket to the last hanging bead. The clip-on matching earrings are 1 1/2 inches long and have 6 beads on each one. The beads are attached to a swinging mechanism which gives the set wonderful movement when being worn. The brooch has a secure safety clasp closure on the back and the earring clips work just fine. This set comes in a jewelry box that I believe is original to the jewelry, but I can't swear to that, it has always been stored in this box marked "Smith's Jewelry” in the "heart” of Beaverton”. The store has been in business since 1957 in Beaverton, Oregon, a suburb of Portland.

This incredible set is in excellent condition. Although it is unsigned it is a quality vintage set and would make a dazzling addition to your collection of vintage jewelry.
