This is a pair of delightful doll house or miniature vases with the applied moriage raised decoration. They are from Japan and most likely from the 1940s. Each is marked in red on the bottom “JAPAN”. They are a gorgeous pastel green with touches of gold, pink, brown, and blue raised enamel dots and lines. In the center is a transfer portrait of a woman with blonde hair. Each two handled vase measures approximately 2 ½ inches tall and 1 ½ inches wide.

These are in nice vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. They are quite delicate, yet have survived all these years intact. One of the vases has a defect on the side. It looks as though the defect occurred during the firing or when the vase was created. It doesn’t appear to be an actual crack (see photo with arrow). There is some minor wear to the raised moriage, both are missing a little piece of the pink enamel design underneath the woman and a tiny spot of paint worn off behind one handle. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and clearly show the details better than I can describe.

These attractive vases would make a great addition to your collection of miniatures. They would be gorgeous on a dressing table in a Shabby Chic design bedroom, or lovely with a little flower bud from your garden sitting on a kitchen or living room cabinet shelf.
