Item description for Vintage Parakeet Budgie Parrot Bird Brooch Pin Enamel Yellow White

This adorable Parakeet brooch is enameled in bright mustard yellow and white with an orange beak. Behind the bird are two yellow branches or leaves that almost look like the bird’s wings. I have seen this brooch in several different colors that had a signed artist palette shaped cartouche with the signature “Original by Robert”, but this pin is unsigned. The back of the brooch is a gold tone metal. It measures approximately 2 ½ inches long and 1 3/8 inches wide. This brooch is most likely from the 1960s to 1970s.

This bird is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There is no loss of enamel or chips on the front of the bird, there is a tiny enamel chip on the back edge of the branch, but it doesn't show from the front (see photos). There is a tiny spot of finish loss on the gold tone back that I pointed out in the photo. It is hard to see it without magnification. It has a secure roll over clasp on the back. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This would be the perfect addition to anyone’s collection of vintage costume figural jewelry. It is perfect for a bird lover. It is quite unique as you usually see parrot brooches, not parakeets. If you know someone who raises or breeds parakeets, this is the gift for them. If you are the lucky owner of a yellow parakeet, what fun this would be to wear.
