Beautiful, antique rolled gold Topaz/Amber color paste, rhinestone leaf pendant lavalier necklace probably Czech circa 1920's.
The Art Deco pendant is made from doublé, also known as rolled gold. It is a technique whereby a thin layer of gold has been bonded through heat and pressure to a base metal.
The gold filled pendant has an open work design with two silver leafs accented with a open back set paste/rhinestone and it looks as if it could be silver underneath the rolled gold layer ( you can see the color on the inside of the bale ) but I didn't want to risk damage by testing it.
Very feminine, dainty this little beauty measures 1 5/8" ( 4.2 cm ) including the bale, 1/2" (1.5 cm ) at the widest point.
Condition: There is tiny fleabite to the rhinestone , the back has some scratches in one place, no wear to the rolled gold layer bright and shiny.
