This is a lovely vintage round wooden trinket box that was purchased in Yugoslavia in 1968. It has a little note that was written when it was given as a gift (see photos). It may have been made there or in another country such as Poland or Germany. The box has a burnt wood circle design along the edges of the top and the bottom. It has a colorful step or stair pattern in red, green, blue, and black. There are crosses and a design that reminds me of puzzle pieces. It is covered with protective varnish. The inside of the box is left natural it is a golden blonde colored wood. The box measures approximately 4 inches in diameter at the widest point and 2 ¾ inches across the base. It stands 2 inches tall.

It is in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The inside is nice and clean and the lid closes nice and secure. There is no loss to the shiny finish or the paint, and no dents or crazing of the finish. It is lovely. This would look great on any woman’s dresser, perfect for storing rings, jewelry or change.
