This copper brooch was originally designed by the artist Francisco “Frank” Rebajes in 1945. He was known for his metal art and costume jewelry designs from the 1930s to the 1950s. The brooch is designed to represent a man and a woman kissing in profile. The man’s face is layered on top of the woman’s. The brooch measures approximately 2 ¼ inches tall and 1 ¾ inches. It is signed with Rebajes signature on the back. Otto Bade joined the company in 1941 and bought it in 1960. He created an entire line of “Kiss” jewelry. I believe this is an older brooch rather than a newer version from the 1960s, but I'm not familiar with the difference between them, so I can't be sure.

It is in great vintage condition as you can see from the many enlarged photographs. It has a nice patina that adds to the beauty of the brooch, I have not polished it, I will leave that up to you if you so desire. It has normal wear that you would expect from a pre-owned piece of jewelry. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

This would make an excellent gift for any occasion, such as an Anniversary, Valentine’s Day or even as an engagement present along with a ring. What a romantic way to say “I Love You” to that special person in your life.
