Vintage West Germany Trachten Hat Pin Brooch Shield Edelweiss Fringe
Tourist Souvenir
Tyrolean Mountains
Meine Herzleiben Bleamerin
Metal and Green Fringed Round Brush
Bavarian Jagd
Traditional Oktoberfest Accessory

The brooch is shaped like a crest or shield and has the flower Edelweiss and also what appear to be Oak leaves. The words “Meine Herzlieben Bleamerin” are on the front and on the back “Made in Western Germany”. This translates to “My Beloved Bleamerin” or "My Heart Loves Bleamerin". I was not able to find the term "Bleamerin", but this was most likely sold as a souvenir at the time circa 1950s or 1960s. The brooch is surrounded by a forest green fuzzy fringe fabric. West Germany was also known as the Federal Republic of Germany of FRG and was created in 1949 and existed until the German reunification in 1990.

This style of pin is often worn on men’s traditional wool or felt Alpine and Bavarian Trachten or Tirolerhute Fedora hats. It has been a long standing custom to add pins to the hat based on what cities have been visited or to show your interest in hunting or hiking. It measures approximately 1 5/8 inches wide by 1 ½ inches tall and has a simple “C” clasp on the back.

This pin is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.
