This retro sailor anchor and rope brooch or pin with a nautical theme is marked on the back "Made in W. Germany”. It is a large round metal pin or brooch with enamel on the front in a deep navy blue and a pale creamy yellow. It measures approximately 2 3/4 inches in diameter. It is in great vintage condition with a few marks on the back on the white enamel paint and one tiny crazing line on the front (see picture). You don't see the crazing mark without magnification, but I wanted to point it out. There is a slight smudge of blue on the yellow side, but it is original to the piece. The pin on the back works fine, but there is a slight bend in the pin.

West Germany only existed in name from 1949 to 1990 when the Berlin Wall came down. This European nautical piece of jewelry had to have been made during that time period.

This would be perfect for anyone who loves sailing or cruising on the deep blue sea and a great pin for a day at the Yacht Club. It would make a great gift for your favorite captain, crew member, fisherman or sailor.
