Originally one of the Plaza group of labels, it later became one of the ARC labels, out-living all it's stable-mates and becoming a subsidiary label of Columbia-CBS along with the revived Okeh label. Sold through Sears Roebuck & Co. and other chain stores and catalogues during it's life from 1926 to 1942. The record sleeves state that the proper playing speed for Conqueror Records is 80 rpm.
