Measurements are taken when product is laying flat and this way:

Chest- armpit to armpit
Length- bottom of collar to bottom of shirt
Waist- straight across top of belt line.
Inseam- from crotch seam to the end of leg.
Rise- from top of belt to the bottom of the crotch- straight down
