The small Victorian flow blue bowl (most likely intended as a soap dish) with ruffled, cobalt blue edges with hand painted gold trim and additional gold filigree inside. The design features clusters of flowers with branches and leaves.
 
The bottom is stamped La Belle China. La Belle China was formed in 1887 under the same management as Wheeling Pottery in Wheeling, West VA to produce semi-porcelain wares.
 
MEASUREMENTS
 
6 ½” (16.5 cm) long x 4 ¾” (12.1 cm) wide x 1 ½” (3.8 cm) tall. Weighs 6.3 oz (180 g)
 
CONDITION
 
There is a concussion mark near the rim, a well a short hairline on the opposite side. The gilding is moderately worn and fine crazing throughout. One side of the outside is discolored under the glaze. The piece has normal kiln flaws, such as bumps and pits.
