About the item:

Signed by hand by two comic legends, Jerry Robinson (1922-2011) and Sheldon "Shelly" Moldoff (1920-2012), this trading card is from the 2008 Rittenhouse Archives Batman Classic Covers card set. Robinson provided the backgrounds on the cover to this issue as well as inking/lettering much of its interior, including the Joker, Hugo Strange, and Catwoman stories. He also designed the Batman title logo.  Moldoff lettered and provided the backgrounds to the interior two-page origin story "The Legend of the Batman--Who He Is and How He Came to Be!"  In nm/mint condition, the card will be shipped with the utmost care. Please note- the signatures are real. They are the actual, hand-signed signatures of Robinson & Moldoff.  They are not pre-printed images on the card.  Moldoff's last name did not take as well as it entered the highly glossed area of the card, but it is still clearly visible.

More info about the artists:

Robinson is best known as the creator of the Joker (who first appeared in the issue depicted on this card), the co-creator of Robin, and and the first ghost artist to assist Bob Kane with illustrating Batman.  Moldoff was one of the most prolific of Kane’s ghost artists (for both Batman and Detective Comics) and is also acclaimed for his work on Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, Hawkman, and the Spectre.  Moldoff also has a number of iconic books he worked on, including the JSA’s first appearance in All-Star Comics #3, Green Lantern’s first appearance on the cover of All-American Comics #16, and The Flash’s first appearance in All-Flash Comics #1.  But he is most closely associated with Batman. Along with Dick Sprang and Win Mortimer, he became one of three primary ghost artists for Bob Kane on the Dark Knight Detective, illustrating the character for nearly two decades and introducing (co-creating and being the first artist to illustrate) Bat-Mite, Ace the Bat-Hound and the original Batgirl (Betty Kane).
