About The Record:

It's Gonna Be Me, by NSYNC, was released as the second single from their album No Strings Attached in the United States, and third in Europe. It became the only song by NSYNC to peak at the No. 1 position on the US Billboard Hot 100. It's Gonna Be Me first appeared on the US Top 40 Tracks chart on the May 6, 2000 issue of Billboard at No. 33, after it was distributed as a promotional record. It was eventually sent to retail stores in the US on July 11, after it debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 42 the previous week, due to early street-date violations. Consequently, this caused the song to reach No. 1 on the July 29 issue, scanning 91,000 units. It was the second song released by Jive Records to reach No. 1 since Britney Spears' ...Baby One More Time. It's Gonna Be Me topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two consecutive weeks, charting on July 29–August 5, 2000. Worldwide, the song reached No. 1 in Canada and charted within the top-ten in New Zealand, Sweden, Belgium and the United Kingdom. It has since been certified Gold by the RIAA. The music video debuted on TRL on May 23, and was also released on MTV's Making the Video. The band decided to retain the puppet-motif used in the music video for Bye Bye Bye, but were instead trapped inside a toy store. Isham decided to bring back Kim Smith from the Bye Bye Bye video, in order for both videos to be seamless with one another. The video used little CGI, as Isham wanted the video to look authentic. Joji Tani, known by Screaming Mad George, provided make-up for the video, which consisted of prosthetics being used to transform the band into dolls. Life-sized dominoes were also used, which were shot falling.
