This is what is called a BOMBSHELL dress!  A strapless tomato red figure hugging wonder with extravagant bows that will lure out that lady in red that resides within you....and leave everyone breathless!
This confection is from the team known as Eugene Alexander.  Eugene Stutzman and Alexander Wallace created their acclaimed fashion label in 1981 and went on to design glamorous, ready to wear couture evening gowns and special occasion dresses.  Their designs were worn by Elizabeth Taylor,  Whitney Houston, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jane Fonda.....to name just a few.  Their dresses and gowns were made in a small workshop in Sarasota, Florida.  They had thirty seamstresses in their employ.  They sold their line in Manhattan.
I acquired this particular dress from a vintage clothing dealer many years ago and have had it in storage.  It has been dry cleaned and it is ready to be worn.
This dress is perfect for holiday parties....and for Valentine’s Day!
The size on the label says it is a 4 - that is a 1980’s size 4.  Today it would be the equivalent of an  XXS according to the google size chart.  The bust size of my mannequin is 32” and I couldn’t quite zip the dress all the way up...but that is because mannequins are not composed of squeezable flesh.  The waist size is 24”.  The hip size is 34”.  The length is 31”.
There is no fabric label.  Whatever the fabric is, it is very high quality.  It has a silky, satiny, polished look to it.  The bows are wired to hold their shape.  There is boning at the bust.  The entire dress is lined.
I welcome all questions and will happily provide more photos if requested.
