Little Monkey by Franz Marc

Bavarian artist Franz Marc featured animals in many of his paintings.  He enjoyed painting nature and animals in vibrant shades and abstract forms.  This oil painting called, Little Monkey, was created in 1912 and was done in the Expressionism style.  

Born in Bavaria, Germany in February 1880, Franz Moritz Wilhelm Marc became a leading artist in the German Art Movement at the start of the 20th century. He studied many of the great artists in Paris, and developed a strong interest in the work of Vincent van Gogh.

PS:

Did you know that vintage art was never created to fit our modern frame sizes?  Most original work is much wider, longer, or simply an odd shape to fit a standard frame.  

Sadly, many print suppliers crop vintage art to make it fit today's sizes, but this risks losing beautiful parts of the artwork.  

I believe that you should be able to view the old artwork in its full glory.  And so you'll find many of the prints here have non-standard white borders.  

These allow you to crop the print to the size you want.  Or frame it as it is in a glass clipframe, or with a contrasting matt that brings the artwork to life.

Your choice of frame makes a world of difference to your artwork too.  Enjoy your print.
