About The Record:

You Don't Bring Me Flowers, by Barbra Streisand, was a single released from her second Greatest Hits album. This version of the song is a duet with singer Neil Diamond, who also contributed to the song's lyrics. Streisand's solo rendition was featured on her album Songbird. Diamond had already recorded his interpretation of the song on his I'm Glad You're Here with Me Tonight album. Because both versions of the song were recorded in the same key, DJ Gary Guthrie combined the two songs together while playing records at a local radio station. Guthrie pitched the idea to CBS Records to which they accepted. Their collaboration was a global, commercial success, topping the charts in both the US, Canada, New Zealand, the UK. The version with Diamond has since sold more than 2 million copies in the USA.
