This whimsical ceramic clay porcelain sculpture was created by the renowned Italian Artist Sculptor, Dino Bencini. He is famous for his unique caricature figurines. This one is of a lady golfer with applied "Spaghetti" hair. Bencini's rare combination of fantasy and humor finds expression in each of his sculptures and each one of his figures has a distinct personality.

The figurine is handcrafted, beautifully detailed and signed by the artist, Bencini on the back. This particular figurine does not have the original tags, but the actual wording of the tag reads; "Created by Bencini, a direct descendent of the great Florentine masters, they reflect the many awards won by this great sculptor". There would also be a second tag "The zest for living and robust sense of humor in these detailed Italian ceramic figurines come from the master himself... it is authentic only when signed. Bencini."

This highly glazed ceramic sculpture is made from what appears to be a reddish terra cotta clay and then white washed. This woman golfer stands approximately 5 1/2 inches tall. From the tip of her shoes to the back of her outfit is approximately 2 3/4 inches. She appears to be in excellent condition. It is hard to tell if any piece of a strand of hair is missing, but it looks to be intact, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.

Bencini's sculptures are collected by people worldwide. This would be treasured by anyone involved with the Sport of Golf. If you already collect Bencini sculptures this would be a terrific addition.
