For sale is Jean de La Fontaine Fables Sampler Set 1 Monochrome Counted Cross Stitch Pattern in PDF Format.

A Fable is short story, typically with animals as characters, conveying a moral.

This sampler is re-charted from old Filet Crochet charts, depicting 9 different Jean de La Fontaine fables: The stories for every fable are not included in the sale of the cross stitch pattern and are easy found on internet. I also provide the French name of the fable, so you can also “google” in French if interested.

JF1 – The dog carrying his master supper (Le chien portant le diner de son maire)

JF2 – The rooster, cat and the mouse (Le cochet, Le chat, et le souriceau)

JF3 – The bird wounded by an arrow (L’oiseau blesse d’une fleche)

JF4 – The deer seeing itself in the water (Le cerf se voyant dans l’eau)

JF5 – The dog and her companion (La lice et sa compagne)

JF6 – The donkey and the dog (Lane et le chien)

Monochrome picture means using black and white colors OR variations of tones of the same color. Also some can say that monochrome image consists of a single color against neutral background.
