Wet socks are uncomfortable, causing blisters, Athlete's Foot fungus and bacterial odors. In cold or freezing temperatures, moisture pulls heat away from the skin 23 times faster than air. This can reduce skin temperature so rapidly that wet feet not only feel painfully cold, but are much more susceptible to frostbite. The Lite Hiking Socks have a special Dual Layer Moisture Removal System. This system instantly moves moisture from the skin, through the inner Drymax layer to the outer absorbent layer, keeping feet dry. Staying dry is critical to remaining warm and safe in cold weather and comfortable in hot weather. Drymax is the least thermally conductive fiber. This means Drymax fibers keep feet warmer in cold weather because they draw less heat away from the skin. The Lite Hiking socks possess top mesh areas which help to release heat and sweat vapors keeping feet drier, cooler and more comfortable in warm weather. The Lite Hiking Sock is a Medium+ Density protective padded sock. Using dense padding, as opposed to thick padding protects feet without adversely affecting the fit of the shoes. The Lite Hiking Socks were designed for use in cool to hot conditions, keeping feet dry, comfortable and odor free all day long.
